We partner with local individuals and small businesses to ensure that each tour is authentic, friendly and in support of the community and local economy. From transportation, to guides and families who share their homes, we value those whose contribution makes JC’s Journeys what it is.
The Ovares Picado Family has been working in agriculture for nearly 20 years. About 8 years ago, they decided to go organic to reduce use of chemicals and implement more sustainable farming practices. They established Finca Integral Didáctica in Rio Negro, Cobano which is now part of Costa Rica’s Blue Flag Ecological Program. Manuel and Patricia are enthusiastic about the environmentally friendly farming methods they use to produce goods such as dairy products and sugar cane, and love being able to share information and demonstrations with visitors to their farm.
